First performed in Colombo in 2002, Journey into the Subconscious is a production apart for Sunera Foundation. It follows no storyline, nor does it push the audience towards a specific message. Free of these bounds, the audience is encouraged to take their own meaning from the performance. Everyone who sees the production sees something different, an inner meaning which is personal to them.
“Many people make promises, history knows how many of these promises have been fulfilled. Despite the statues that appear at almost every junction, are people satisfied that their leaders fulfill the promises made to them? Do the promise makers ever think of those with special needs? They too would like to live like any one of us. They are full of innocent thoughts and expectations much like little children. Let us travel deep into their subconscious.”
