Butterflies Will Always Fly

Butterflies Will Always Fly is the story of Saman, a young man who is badly injured in the war. In the operating theatre he hovers between life and death. His life is saved yet both his legs are amputated. Saman is transported to a village where others like him live and they all have a common need - they need love in their lives.

Saman needs to live a life like anyone of us. Is it only in his dreams that he can experience love? They plead only for butterfly wings with which to fly, but are we ready to give them that?

The basic storyline for Butterflies Will Always Fly was based on the experiences of some of the group members and is an experience which has to be interpreted in a very personal way. When the members of this group met for the first time they were all caterpillars. By sharing their differences they turned into beautiful butterflies.

“Here the legless walked tall; the blind pointed that we may see; the armless embraced us warmly and those in wheelchairs told us of the wheels of life, of this spinning world and how they could steer over the rainbow where they, the butterflies, would waft on wings of art and song.”
