All set for ‘Samanalayaya -2012′ finals!

Shedding light on the talents of the differently- abled young persons attached to Sunera workshops in  various regions,  the finals of the Samanalayaya 2012 (Field of Butterflies) will be held at S.D.S. Jayasingeh Hall Dehiwela on August 24th at 3. 30 p.m.

Samanalayaya Drama Festival is the key event in the Sunera calendar organised with a view to showcases the creativity of Sunera participants from our workshops around the island.

The annual drama festival is gaining momentum every year as it becomes an event much look forward to by the trainers, participants and their families alike.

The regional performances of the Samanalayaya 2012 were held successfully  where in every workshop participant had the opportunity to get on stage to showcase their skills in dancing and drama to a public audience made up of their friends, family and the community from their locality.

The regional  performances were evaluated by a panel of jury and four productions of Matara, Panadura, Puttalam and Mawanella workshops, were chosen for the finals in Colombo.

Samanalayaya 2012 is made possible by Stefan Deane, a differently-abled young man who lives in Melbourne, Australia who generously came forward ,along with his parents, to sponsor this year’s event and thereby raise awareness in society that ‘Disability is Possibility.

The event is open to public free of charge, and we welcome all of you to attend this year’s Samanalayaya to witness our butterflies in action!
