Sunera Benefit Opera Concert - January 2009

World famous Opera Concert Singer, Kishani Jayasinghe, will be singing for Sunera on the 9th of January 2009, at the Lionel Wendt.  The concert starts at 7.00pm and will contain classical arias and contemporary favourites as well!  Tickets will be sold at the Lionel Wendt starting first week of December 2008. 

Kishani will be accompanied by Soundarie David on the piano and Cellist, Dushy Perera will be playing two solo items.

Kishani is affiliated with the Royal Opera House (London) and recently enjoyed an Opera master class with none other than Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.  She also sang at Prince Charles’ 60 birthday celebrations at Buckingham Palace on 13th November 2008.

Samanalayaya 2008 Finals performances and time table

Not to worry if you missed this year’s regional performances of Samanalayaya 2008.  The finals are taking place on 17th and 18th December 2008 at the John De Silva Theatre at 4.30pm. 

 The finalists hail from Puttalam, Kalutara, Thalawa, Kurunegala, Horagolla and Welimada.

17th December 2008 - Puttalam, Kalutara and Anuradhapura performances

18th December 2008 - Kurunegala, Horagolla and Welimada performances

Sunera performs in India!

We are honoured and excited to be invited to perform at a regional cultural show in Delhi, on the 9th of November 2008.  Performing groups from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan were invited to perform pieces in their cultural show which focuses on the performing arts for disabled persons, and Sunera has been selected to be the Sri Lankan delegation.  A total 0f 7 Sunera participants are going to Delhi in November to perform - watch this space!
